🦷 What to Do If a Front Tooth Is Broken (Incisor or Canine)

In case of an injury to a front tooth, a fast and correct response is crucial to maximize the chance of saving the tooth or its fragment.

1️⃣ Find the tooth fragment
The first step is to locate the broken piece of the tooth. If possible, the patient should try to find it at the site of the accident.

2️⃣ Rinse gently
The found fragment should only be lightly rinsed under lukewarm running water. Do not scrub it, brush it, or disinfect it.

3️⃣ Store in a saline solution
Place the fragment in a glass of cold boiled salt water. Simply explain it as water salted roughly like pasta water – salty, but not excessively. This creates a so-called physiological (saline) environment.

4️⃣ See a dentist within 24 hours
The patient should contact our clinic as soon as possible by calling +420 233 375 683, ideally the same day and no later than within 24 hours after the injury, to maximize the chance of successful treatment or reattachment of the broken part.
